Business needs

O.SY SA by actively participating in the effort to upgrade and enhance public transport services recognized the need for growth through directly applicable operational plans for the long term. In this context, while strengthening its organization with infrastructures and rolling stock, it chose to use new technologies and modern methods of recording, monitoring and controlling all processes by installing an Integrated Information System. The problems and challenges faced by the company were too numerous to be solve by the existing old technology and limited functionality system characterized by many independent and non-interconnected applications, or even the manual monitoring of critical tasks. Information which in combination with the lack of the automation and the processes a modern IIS can offer, made any request for central information or information to consumers an extremely difficult and time consuming task. The use of business intelligence (to the extent that it was available in computerized format) was very limited and certainly much below the requirements and objectives of the company’s management, as it was often received using low-productivity obsolete tools. The monitoring system required radical reform, the accounting system automatic updating, the automations of processes required significant enhancement, etc. At the same time, as regards obtaining and utilizing value business intelligence, the needs of the company grew continuously and required an immediate solution.

The Solution

The most appropriate solution required the combination of many features such as integration, operational completeness, interconnection, scalability and reliability. And all these together with a reasonable cost of purchase and maintenance, the implementation of modern technologies, the possibility for O.SY. to expand the system on its own, etc. Furthermore, the system should be fully open, accompanied by a sophisticated business intelligence (BI) management system. The choice of the Integrated Information System Thesis.net ERP, in conjunction with business intelligence system Thesis.net BI, and many specialized individual subsystems developed specifically for O.SY. (all fully interconnected into a single aesthetic and functional environment) immediately and completely rose to the challenge by achieving fully the objectives of the Company’s management. Thesis.net, a very open, modern and scalable system can be interfaced directly and serve the future needs of O.SY., cam be connected with OASA and the Ministry of Finance providing direct information.

The benefits

The use of an automated and centralized Integrated Information System is expected to provide the best results at O.SY. Processes have been automated and business intelligence (ratios) can be immediately utilized for the assessment and making of business decisions towards successfully implementing the main product of the company, which is the growth of its network and service to passengers. Operational problems of the past have been resolved, management and managers now know where, when and how they will act to advance the development of the company with the necessary safety and efficacy. The system ensures full availability and reliability and becomes a real tool for the operation but also the growth of the company.
