Who really doesn’t know CAIR and its historic logo? It may no longer have the special shine of the past, when it monopolized all our beautiful moments and the field of sparkling Greek wines, as the only winery that produced natural sparkling wine with the traditional French method of secondary fermentation in the bottle. It may have gone through difficult times, like almost most businesses in the sector, in recent years. Nevertheless, with its almost century-long history,* know-how and, above all, with the effort of the management and all its members for optimal operation according to the criteria of a very competitive market, it remains to this day one of the largest wineries in Greece, which constantly invests in modernization and quality (the first Greek unit to implement the “honest harvest”), with an always constant goal, the production and promotion of quality wines (almost all of CAIR’s wines have been awarded in international competitions) produced from the Rhodian P.O.D. multi-varietal (athiri, asyrtiko, malagouzia, mandilaria, mavrothiriko, moschato, cabernet, chardonnay, merlot, sauvignon, syrah tempranillo, etc.) vineyard.

In this context, the management’s choice to connect the multi-year consolidation program and its strategic planning for a new pioneering era of CAIR S.A., with the full computerization of all stages of production, through the full utilization of Thesis Winery, the only, specialized, Greek application for integrated management of winemaking and viticulture units, which CGSoft has been successfully offering to the market for a decade, is certainly honorable for us and at the same time an incentive to continue offering state of the art products to all businesses in the sector. After of course… we drink a glass of champagne.

*C.A.I.R. or «Compagnia Agroicola Industiale Rodi», as it was firstly called, was founded in 1928 by Italian entrepreneurs. With the incorporation of the Dodecanese into Greece in 1948, it passed into Greek hands (the first Greek owner of CAIR was Bodossakis), while in 1957, the shares were sold to the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (EAS) of the Dodecanese. Nowadays, CAIR AE operates as a subsidiary of the Dodecanese Union, whose members are mainly local grape producers.
