by ATCOM using Thesis.net Project Management
Customer Profile
Since its foundation in 2000, ATCOM has focused on the development of professional products and content management applications across the entire market. The main objective remains to develop a network of partners and Web Project Implementers and to ensure added value to those who choose the web-based solutions it markets. Its products offer competitive advantages due to the possibility of efficient management of both the Internet and mobile telephony through the transparent collaboration of NetvolutionTM and Mvolution. The combination of the two products is a unique, innovative solution.Having invested systematically in infrastructure, human resources and expertise, it has a dominant position in Greece with considerable experience gained from more than 1000 projects, and it is expanding successfully in the international market.
Business needs
ATCOM in its effort to upgrade and enhance the services it provides, it recognized the need for the optimal organization of projects. In this context, while strengthening its position in the market, it chose to use new technologies and modern methods of recording, and controlling all processes by installing the respective Information System. The problems and challenges faced by the company were too numerous to be resolved, as, given the total of its pricing policy, the cost per resource and time unit, availability, interdependencies between the company departments, and many independent noninterconnected applications, it had to respond to daily issues such as planning and the assessment of projects and works, What-if analysis (e.g. What if I assign a project inbetween other projects: When will I deliver it? What impact will it have on the rest of the projects?) etc. Information which in combination with the lack of automation, made any request for central information an extremely difficult and time consuming task. The use of business intelligence and the confirmation of initial forecasts were limited and definitely were much lower than the high standards and goals of the company’s management, as they were obtained using old, low productivity tools. The monitoring system required radical reform, the accounting system automatic updating, the automations of processes required significant enhancement because of the volume of information, etc.At the same time, as regards obtaining and utilizing value business intelligence, the needs of the company grew continuously and required an immediate solution.
The Solution
The most appropriate solution required the combination of many features such as integration, operational completeness, interconnection, scalability and reliability. And all these together with a reasonable cost of purchase and maintenance, the implementation of modern technologies, the possibility for ATCOM to expand the system on its own, etc. Furthermore, the system should be fully open, accompanied by a sophisticated business intelligence (BI) management system and of course be linked to the payroll program. The choice of Thesis.net Project Management, in conjunction with specialized applications developed specifically for the company (all fully interconnected into a single aesthetic and functional environment) rose to the challenge immediately as it fully met the objectives of the management. At the same time it is also a very open, modern and scalable system that can serve directly present and future needs.
The benefits
Thesis.net Project Management already offers great results. Processes have been automated to successfully perform the company’s main activity, which is optimal customer service. At the same time there was an immediate increase in productivity, reduction of the cost of services and increase of competitiveness. Corporate information is immediate and fully utilized for assessment and business decision making by the management. Operational problems of the past have been resolved, management and managers now know where, when and how they will act to advance the development of the company with the necessary safety and efficacy (Prints include: Time per project, contract, resource or per service category, project scheduling, reporting on implementation & change requests by project, client, service category, period, etc.).The system is highly user-friendly and was accepted by employees, who now know and organize much more simply and reliably their work. This system has become an irreplaceable tool in the daily operation and ongoing successful growth of ATCOM both in Greece and abroad.
