Last week, CGSoft reached a cooperation agreement with Ktima Skoura for the complete computerization of the latter with the leading software products Thesis ERP and Thesis Winery, as well as with the complementary web and mobile applications Thesis MIS, Thesis eShop and Thesis Oeneus.
The long, successful path that the Skouras Estate has taken begins in 1986, the year that its founder, Georgios Skouras, began to realize his vision for his own estate. Initially, a small wine production unit was created in Pyrgela, a small village outside Argos. The natural continuation was a boutique winery within the Nemean agricultural zone. The endless hours of manual labor on a small scale were a valuable study in Agiorgitiko and the Nemean Designation of Origin. In 2004, the winery was established in Malandreni, a village northwest of Argos, within the wine-growing zone of Nemea. The new facilities increased capacity and technological infrastructure, but not to make the wines more technical, as for the Skouras team, technology is a way of control -wines should be made only with the absolutely necessary interventions.
The Skouras Estate winery is a state-of-the-art wine production unit among vineyards, designed to cover, on the one hand, the impeccable wine production process, with very high standards in all stages of production, bottling, maturation and preservation of the wine, and on the other hand, the visitor experience, with spaces capable of hosting, introducing, educating and entertaining visitors. The grape reception area has the most modern presses and the ability to wine 800 tons of grapes. Its equipment is of a high standard and consists of 80 temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for fermentation and other wine treatments. The cellar of 1,000 oak barrels, with a constant temperature of +14°C and humidity of 70%, as well as the three warehouses for storing bottled wine with a constant temperature of +16°C and humidity of 60%, ensure the maturation of the wines in ideal conditions and guarantee their proper development in the bottle. The bottling line, with a capacity of 3,000 bottles per hour, is located in a separate, spacious and hygienically excellent space, while the Analysis Laboratory, a key point of the winery, where specialized oenologists and agronomists test wines and vines and conduct research and experimental protocols, is one of the few in Europe that has collaboration with the laboratories of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), the State Monopoly of Ontario in Canada.
The history of Domaine Skouras evolves along with an emblematic label: Megas Oinos. Today, Megas Oinos is one of the most consistent presences in the European wine scene, with proven aging potential that few Greek wines can touch. At the same time, Domaine Skouras produces and sells more than 15 labels of white, rosé and red wines, with numerous distinctions, at an international level.
The basic principles of the founder and the entire team of Domaine Skouras, and in particular, the utilization of cutting-edge technology with the aim of controlling and ensuring top results, are confirmed by the above strategic choice of cooperation with CGSoft and the decision to computerize the business, with the latest versions of Thesis products, which for years have successfully supported the business and quality goals of people in the industry nationwide. At the same time, our collaboration with professionals renowned in the market, with deep knowledge of their subject, experience and emblematic wines in their long and multifaceted presence, beyond being an honor for CGSoft and the Thesis applications, is expected to enrich, even further, the knowledge of our executives, as well as the capabilities of our products. As such, it is welcome for one more reason.
